By the time I get my layout changed to the correct season, it's been almost an hour!! It would go much faster if I wasn't so xanga-challenged. Anyway, busy as usual. Work is still work. We tripled our business in 2006. Praise you, Father! I am going to a Beth Moore Conference next month-----------woohoo for a mom's weekend!! My youngest daughter's bedroom is FINALLY done, except for curtains are yet to be made. I need to finish the bathroom and then start on oldest daughter's room.
**Lost a very good friend.........not sure about that..........needs more prayer.............yada yada prayer. Angry at first and now just sick about it. WANTED: PRAYERS FOR A BROKEN RELATIONSHIP
Girls are doing well in school and getting ready to do online classes. They are so excited. We all decided to try to eat healthier this year. Not really dieting, just changing the way we look and think about food. We are thinking about going to Disney this year. The girls have never gone and they want to go. If we are going to go, it needs to be soon. I don't think that you appreciate Disney in the same way when you are an adult like you do when you are a child. I have a friend who works at Disney and she can get us in to all of the parks for free so I would only have to pay for our hotel and food. I think we will go right after Thanksgiving for a couple of weeks. My sister and I are planning our annual trip to Vegas for our birthdays..........can't wait!!! A group of my girlfriends are also planning a trip to Tennessee this summer. Lots to do!!
I hope that you all had a wonderful holiday season and were able to spend some time with your families. We skipped the presents part of Christmas and went to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee with my parents, my sister's family and my family. It was the best Christmas we have ever had!
Have a great week and I hope to update more frequently but don't hold your breath!!!

| Happy Wednesday! I haven't posted much lately, but I have been reading to stay caught up. I was sick and in the hospital with a fractured thoracic bone in my chest which caused pleurisy and pneumonia. I won't give you the blow by blow..............I don't feel that it gives any glory to God........sometimes the "story" we tell is so detailed and involved that we become the center of the crisis rather than God. Rather than have anyone say, "Oh, poor Barb! You have been through so much! What an awful thing! etc, etc, etc,...... I would much rather have everyone say, "Praise God! Thank ya, Jesus! You are so good to us all the time, even through rough times. Thank you for this trial to make us grow and bring us closer to you!" I don't mean to be without compassion, but I need to be reminded that it is not all about me, me, me!!! We have been studying the book of Daniel by Beth Moore and she really confirmed this in one of the lessons. The study is wonderful and very deep and challenging.
We have fog here today and a lot of delays and closings. Remember listening to the radio and waiting for them to say your school was closed? And then letting out the biggest WOO HOO!!!!! when they said CLOSED! My girls are homeschooled and we stay on the same schedule as the public schools just so they have as much fun with it as we did. Silly, I know, but still fun.
Well, gotta run to work. Have a great day and rest of the week. Thanks for your emails, phone calls, meals, and prayers. You are wonderful friends and we really appreciated everything.

| The Concert
When the house lights dimmed and the concert
was about to begin, the mother returned to her seat and discovered that
the child was missing Suddenly, the curtains parted and spotlights
focused on the impressive Steinway on stage.
In horror, the mother saw her little boy sitting at the keyboard, innocently picking out "Twinkle,Twinkle Little Star."
At that moment, the great piano master made his entrance, quickly moved to the piano, and whispered in the boy's ear,
"Don't quit." "Keep playing."
Then, leaning over, Paderewski reached down with his
left hand and began filling in a bass part. Soon his right arm reached
around to the other side of the child, and he added a running obbligato.
Together, the old master and the young novice
transformed what could have been a frightening situation into a
wonderfully creative experience. The audience was so mesmerized that
they couldn't recall what else the great master played. Only the
classic, " Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star."
Perhaps that's the way it is with God.
What we can accomplish on our own is hardly
noteworthy. We try our best, but the results aren't always graceful
flowing music. However, with the hand of the Master, our life's work
can truly be beautiful.
The next time you set out to accomplish great feats, listen carefully.
You may hear the voice of the Master, whispering in your ear,
"Don't quit." "Keep playing."
May you feel His arms around you and know that His
hands are there, helping you turn your feeble attempts into true
masterpieces. Remember, God doesn't seem to call the equipped, rather,
He equips the 'called.'
Life is more accurately measured by the lives you
touch than by the things you acquire. So touch someone by passing this
little message along. May God bless you and be with you always! and
remember ,
"Don't quit."
"Keep playing." | | |
